Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.
About the role
Cursor’s agents work inside the codebases of some of the most security-conscious engineering organizations in the world — holding credentials, reading untrusted content, running tools, and shipping changes. Today they act on authority delegated per task. Where we’re headed, they’ll work more like coworkers: autonomous over long horizons, holding standing responsibilities, initiating work, and collaborating with people and other agents. The security models that future needs — identity and accountability for autonomous workers, standing authority rather than per-task permission, agent-to-agent trust, oversight that scales with always-on autonomy — mostly don’t exist yet.
As Engineering Manager for Agent & Product Security, you’ll lead the team that makes agentic software development trustworthy. This team owns the security boundaries between customers, data, tools, repositories, workspaces, and agent authority across Cursor’s product and agents and designs the primitives behind them: agent identity, delegated authority, policy enforcement, secure tool execution, and prompt-injection containment. Little of this has settled precedent, so the team’s decisions carry unusual weight for Cursor and for how the industry approaches these problems.
Security here is tightly coupled to product strategy: customers adopt agent autonomy as fast as we can make it trustworthy, so the boundaries your team makes safe directly determine what the product can ship. You’ll help set that direction.
What you’ll do
Chart the path from supervised agents to trusted autonomous ones: define the security primitives that enable agent autonomy, and lead the team that builds them.
Engineer the isolation that makes Cursor safe to run inside customers’ most valuable codebases: tenancy, workspace, secret, and data protections designed for real adversaries.
Build the authority infrastructure autonomous agents need: identity, scoped permissions, policy enforcement, and secure tool execution, so an agent can hold real responsibility with verifiable limits and full accountability.
Build customer-facing security controls that are understandable, usable, and strong enough for Cursor’s most security-sensitive customers, with crisp success metrics for security outcomes.
Hire, coach, and grow a high-performing security engineering team while staying technically close to the work: write and review code where useful, and keep execution fast and technically grounded.
You may be a fit if
You’ve led engineering teams shipping production systems with high security, reliability, or platform stakes — and you want a problem space where much of the answer isn’t written down yet.
You have strong product and systems judgment: you can reason from user workflows to architecture, threat models, enforcement points, and operational tradeoffs — and you see security as something that enables product capability, not only restricts it.
You understand modern application security, authorization, tenancy, identity, secrets, data isolation, and secure-by-default platform design.
You have good instincts about AI agents: how they use tools, where authority should come from, how prompt injection and exfiltration show up in practice, and how to build mitigations that hold up against creative adversaries.
You’re comfortable operating in ambiguity: you can set strategy where precedent is thin, commit to a direction, and stay close enough to the implementation to know when to change it.
You can partner well across product, infrastructure, ML, and customer-facing teams.

About the role
As Regional Director, SLED at Cursor, you'll build and lead the team responsible for revenue growth across our state, local, and education (SLED) accounts within Public Sector. You'll hire, coach, and scale a team of Account Executives, set territory and account strategy, and personally engage in top strategic and executive-level relationships. You'll partner with engineering and IT leaders across state and local agencies, school districts, and higher education institutions — from CTOs to program leads — to show how Cursor transforms developer productivity, and drive land-and-expand motion at scale across the segment.

What you’ll do
Build, hire, and lead a high-performing team of SLED Account Executives; own forecasting, pipeline health, and quota attainment across the region.
Set and execute go-to-market strategy for a named territory of state agencies, local governments, and educational institutions, driving new logo acquisition, expansion revenue, and long-term strategic growth.
Personally engage in the largest, most strategic deals — leading complex, multi-threaded sales cycles across Engineering, IT, Security, Procurement, Legal, and mission-critical stakeholders.
Coach your team to become trusted product experts, guiding SLED prospects through trials, technical evaluations, security reviews, and large-scale rollouts.
Build executive relationships across state and local agencies, school systems, universities, and integrators, and represent Cursor at the CIO/CISO/superintendent/senior-executive level.
Establish clear ROI frameworks tied to developer productivity, AI adoption, mission outcomes, and secure software delivery, and ensure your team applies them consistently.
Serve as the voice of the SLED customer to leadership, shaping roadmap, compliance, deployment, and procurement strategy.
Partner closely with Field Engineering and the AI Deployment team to ensure outcomes from proof of concept through production deployment and expansion.
Navigate and build repeatable playbooks for state and local procurement processes, contract vehicles (e.g., NASPO, cooperative purchasing agreements), and partners to accelerate adoption across the region.
You may be a fit if
You have 6+ years of SLED or enterprise technology sales experience, including 2+ years leading and scaling a quota-carrying sales team, ideally in developer tools, technical SaaS, infrastructure, cybersecurity, or emerging technologies.
You have a consistent track record of building and leading teams that land new logos, expand strategic accounts, and exceed quota.
You're a builder — you've stood up or scaled a territory/team from the ground up, with a bias for hands-on involvement in outbound prospecting, account mapping, and partner leverage.
You're comfortable navigating complex state, local, and education sales cycles and coaching others to sell to technical and mission-oriented stakeholders — from engineers and program leaders to CISOs, CIOs, superintendents, and senior executives.
You understand SLED buying motions, procurement processes, security expectations, and partner ecosystems (resellers, cooperative contracts, systems integrators), and can translate that knowledge into team strategy and enablement.
You bring an analytical approach to pipeline and forecasting, combined with the creative, tactical instincts to unblock deals and coach reps through them.
You're an excellent communicator and leader who builds trust across all levels of an organization — your team, customers, and executive stakeholders alike.

Work with creative partners to brief campaigns clearly and carry the message through across formats, channels, and moments in market.
Align closely with sales stakeholders to identify top priorities, build programs for strategic accounts, and ensure campaign initiatives are closely tied to revenue impact.
Establish measurement frameworks, KPIs, and scaleable processes.
Own campaign performance by measuring, analyzing, and reporting on the impact of campaign on pipeline, revenue, target account penetration, and the demand funnel. Share learnings regularly to improve overall campaign efficacy.

You have extensive familiarity with lead-routing & handoff. You’re able to diagnose funnel health and quickly course correct in tight alignment with your SDR counterparts.
You have a proven track record of building campaigns for enterprise audiences, including technical decision-makers, executives, and complex buying groups.

We're building a Forward Deployed Engineering team to close the gap between the value our enterprise customers expect from Cursor and the value they're actually getting. FDEs don't advise, they embed directly with customer engineering teams, build production-grade Cursor workflows, and transfer the habits and culture that compound long after the engagement ends. The measure of success is what's different at day 30, not what got shipped.
We're looking for a RVP, Forward Deployed Engineering to lead and help scale this team. You'll manage a growing team of FDEs working across our most strategic enterprise accounts, own what makes a world-class FDE engagement, and stay close enough to the work to escalate, coach, and course-correct in real time. You will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, owning both project delivery and the day-to-day relationship, while also identifying and scoping new opportunities. You'll also build our partner FDE track — training and enabling GSI and consulting partners who extend this motion at scale.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who combines deep technical credibility, strong people management, and the judgment to keep engagements scoped tight, delivered fast, and worth repeating.
What you'll do
Sell
Own the full arc from technical discovery to executive close — partnering with Sales and Account teams to qualify opportunities, leading architecture reviews, surfacing integration complexity and infrastructure constraints, and scoping engagements with enough precision to de-risk delivery before a line of code is written
Build and present proposals that translate ambiguous customer problems into concrete, time-boxed deliverables with clear ROI
Sell the vision and the plan to C-suite stakeholders who need to believe in both the outcome and the team delivering it
Drive deal strategy on strategic accounts; your technical credibility is a direct lever on close rates for six- and seven-figure engagements
Deliver
Serve as executive technical sponsor on your region's highest-priority engagements and manage stakeholder relationships from IC engineers to C-suite
Ensure delivery quality across your team's projects: appropriate scoping, milestone tracking, technical standards, and clean handoffs to customer engineering teamsTranslate between business outcomes and technical implementation in both directions
Identify and escalate product gaps, integration friction, and recurring customer pain back to Product and Engineering with enough specificity to drive roadmap decisions
Manage active engagements: escalate on complex builds, coach FDEs on scoping and delivery decisions, and step in directly on accounts where the stakes are highest
Build reusable playbooks that make the broader FDE org more capable over time
Manage People
Lead, develop, and scale a team of 6–8 Forward Deployed Engineers working strategic FDE projects
Hire top-tier FDE talent; set clear expectations, technical performance standards, and career growth paths for a team where "excellent" means actually shipping in production
Coach FDEs through the hardest problems in the field — scoping under deal pressure, building alongside senior technical stakeholders, and knowing when to protect scope vs. when to flex
Build and scale the partner FDE track — train, enable, and hold the quality bar for GSI and consulting partners who carry the FDE motion forward at volume
You may be a fit if
You have 8+ years of experience leading technical teams that build and ship in production — Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a similar function where writing and reviewing code is part of the job
You have experience with software development and coding in Python, Javascript/Typescript
You’ve built and owned AI-native workflows in production, not just prototypes, and have debugged real-world model failures
You can diagnose a complex enterprise engineering environment quickly, identify the highest-leverage intervention, and scope a meaningful engagement
You've built and scaled IC-level technical teams and know what excellence looks like in the field: sharp scoping, clean delivery, and knowledge that stays at the customer long after the engagement closes

The User Operations team owns the support experience for Cursor's users - from individual developers to our largest enterprise accounts. As we've scaled across regions, the volume and richness of our support data has grown faster than our ability to make sense of it. We're looking for a Data Analyst to change that.
This role sits inside our Product and Engineering organization with a dotted line to the Head of User Operations and owns the data and reporting layer for Support. You'll turn ticket data, SLA performance, customer sentiment, and product signal into the dashboards and analysis that leadership uses to run the org - and into the evidence Product and Engineering use to decide what to fix next. Support is one of the clearest signals we have about where the product is working and where it isn't. Your job is to make that signal legible.
What you'll do
Build and own the reporting layer for Support: ticket volume, SLA attainment, resolution times, help center performance, CSAT/CES/sentiment, and capacity utilization across regions and tiers
Partner with Support leadership to turn open questions - "are we getting faster but less accurate?", "where is enterprise pain actually concentrated?" - into analysis that drives decisions
Maintain the multi-signal model behind bug and issue prioritization, weighting frequency, breadth, support cost, and sentiment, so Engineering sees a defensible picture of what impacts users most
Design dashboards for two audiences: internal operational views for managers, and customer-facing views for enterprise accounts
Own data quality, governance, and reliability across Support data products, including our ticketing data and internal commitments
Surface Voice of Customer trends to Product, Engineering, and GTM, and help close the loop between what users report and what actually gets built
You may be a fit if
You have 5+ years of experience in data analytics, analytics engineering, or a similar role
You have strong SQL skills - this is your primary toolkit - and you're comfortable building models and transformations (dbt or equivalent)
You've built reporting and dashboards in production that people actually depend on, not one-off charts
You can take a vague operational question and turn it into the right analysis without a playbook
You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you're honest about what the data does and doesn't support
You're self-directed and comfortable owning ambiguous problems end to end

We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.
We're hiring Field Engineers to partner with prospective and strategic enterprise customers across Life Sciences. You'll be the technical face of Cursor for the scientific organizations shortening the path from lab to market: helping programmers, researchers, scientists, and commercial teams evaluate Cursor, running proofs of concept, and making sure they see the full value of agentic coding in their real workflows.
You'll work hand-in-hand with Sales, Product, and Engineering as a deal partner, not a demo resource. You'll scope solutions, demonstrate capabilities, and act as a trusted advisor across the stakeholders that matter in Life Sciences: engineering leaders, architects, developers, scientific computing, R&D, and commercial IT. This is a highly customer-facing role where deep technical fluency, commercial instinct, and clear communication drive adoption and influence product direction.
What you'll do
Partner with AEs to own technical discovery, demos, POCs, and expansion with technical validation
Build trusted relationships across engineering, scientific computing, R&D, and commercial IT
Go deep in research-heavy and regulated environments: developer workflows, AI tooling, complex setups
Help customers connect Cursor to outcomes that matter: faster R&D cycles and a shorter path from lab to market
Deliver technical presentations, whiteboards, and workshops for scientific and commercial audiences
Act as the customer's technical advocate internally with Product and Engineering
Partner with post-sales to hand off cleanly and set up onboarding for success
Stay sharp on Cursor and the competitive landscape so you can go toe to toe in the room
You may be a fit if
You have strong communication skills and executive presence, equally comfortable coding alongside developers or presenting to CTOs and scientific leaders
You understand the SDLC and can connect technical detail to business and scientific impact
You have hands-on technical fluency (not full-time eng): workflows, AI tooling, complex environments
You have deal-partner instinct: co-own with AEs and navigate complex stakeholder maps
You're customer-obsessed and can translate technical detail into why it matters for the organization
You have experience in Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Pre-Sales, or Consulting
You're excited by Life Sciences and comfortable learning regulated / research-heavy orgs fast
You're motivated by putting AI in the hands of people accelerating benefits for humanity
