About the Team
OpenAI’s mission is to ensure that general-purpose artificial intelligence benefits all of humanity.
Our Communications team includes External Communications, Internal Communications, and other strategic communications functions. This team’s ethos is to support OpenAI’s mission and goals by clearly and authentically explaining our technology, values, and approach to safely building powerful AI.
About the Role
We’re looking for a senior communications leader to shape how OpenAI communicates about cybersecurity.
This person will define the global narrative, lead communications for major product, research, and business milestones, and build sustained programs that explain how OpenAI is helping advance cyber defense while managing the risks created by increasingly capable models.
The role will connect OpenAI’s work across cybersecurity products and capabilities, responsible deployment, threat intelligence, enterprise security, research, and public policy. You will work closely with Security, Product, Research, Preparedness, Safety, Global Affairs, Go-to-Market, Legal, and Marketing to anticipate opportunities and risks, develop coordinated communications, and build trust with security practitioners, customers, policymakers, and the public.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role. The right person will be comfortable defining a long-term communications strategy, building the systems and relationships needed to execute it, and personally leading through major launches, technical disclosures, and fast-moving issues.
This role reports to the Head of Communications, Business and is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days per week in the office and offer relocation assistance.
In this role, you will:
Define and lead communications strategy for OpenAI’s cybersecurity work, from global narrative development through launches, research, threat reporting, and sustained storytelling.
Build a clear, differentiated story about how OpenAI can strengthen cyber defense while developing and deploying advanced capabilities responsibly.
Lead communications for major cybersecurity products, model capabilities, research, partnerships, policy initiatives, and company milestones.
Partner closely with the Product and Research Communications team, along with Security, Product, Research, Preparedness, Safety, Global Affairs, Go-to-Market, Legal, and Marketing, to deliver coordinated communications across earned, owned, executive, and social channels.
Own media engagement and build trusted relationships with leading cybersecurity, technology, national-security, policy, and business press.
Advise senior leadership on positioning, messaging, launch strategy, reputation, and communications for high-visibility or fast-moving security issues.
Translate complex technical, security, product, and policy decisions into clear and credible communications, while establishing messaging systems and operating rhythms that keep teams aligned.
You might thrive in this role, if you have:
12+ years of communications experience, with deep experience in cybersecurity, security technology, threat intelligence, national security, infrastructure, or another highly technical field.
Strong press instincts and relationships, with a track record of shaping narratives and landing meaningful coverage with cybersecurity, technology, policy, or business media.
Enough technical fluency to work credibly with security researchers, engineers, threat analysts, product leaders, and technical journalists.
Experience communicating consequential products, research, threat findings, vulnerabilities, incidents, or policy issues in high-scrutiny environments.
Exceptional judgment about accuracy, transparency, confidentiality, and the risks created by imprecise language.
Skill advising senior executives and technical leaders through high-visibility moments with calm and clarity.
The ability to move fluidly between setting the strategy and executing the details, while aligning diverse stakeholders behind a coherent story.

Who we are
Helsing is a defence AI company. Our mission is to protect our democracies. We aim to achieve technological leadership, so that open societies can continue to make sovereign decisions and control their ethical standards.
As democracies, we believe we have a special responsibility to be thoughtful about the development and deployment of powerful technologies like AI. We take this responsibility seriously.
We are an ambitious and committed team of engineers, AI specialists and customer-facing programme managers. We are looking for mission-driven people to join our European teams – and apply their skills to solve the most complex and impactful problems. We embrace an open and transparent culture that welcomes healthy debates on the use of technology in defence, its benefits, and its ethical implications.
The role
This role sits at the intersection of People operations, systems, automation, service delivery and employee experience. You will take an existing global People Operations setup and make it simpler, more reliable and more scalable as the company grows.
This is not a role for someone who wants to maintain established HR processes. We are looking for someone who can understand where the current model is creating friction, determine what genuinely needs to change, and then build the systems, processes and team capability required to solve it.
You will work closely with our People Operations, HRIS & Systems, Payroll, Workplace, Business Partnering and Finance teams.
The day-to-day
-
Design an end-to-end People Operations process landscape across the full employee lifecycle
-
Identify and resolve areas where ownership, processes or controls are unclear or unnecessarily complex
-
Build a scalable global operating model while enabling local flexibility where genuinely required
-
Establish clear service ownership, service levels and escalation paths across the function
-
Partner with the HRIS & Systems team to identify automation opportunities that improve speed, accuracy and employee experience
-
Build self-service solutions that improve experience without removing important human judgement
-
Use data and operational insight to identify bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement
-
Guide thoughtful adoption of AI tools across People Operations
-
Own and improve employee lifecycle administration, onboarding, offboarding, HRIS data processes, service delivery ticketing, payroll inputs, mobility and relocation processes, and documentation
-
Give the People Operations team clear ownership and accountability over their areas
-
Develop People Operations Partners who can operate independently and confidently
-
Create visibility on team priorities, commitments, risks and performance
-
Shift the team from reactive support towards proactive operational ownership
You should apply if you
-
Have built or significantly improved People Operations within a fast-growing or complex organisation
-
Have redesigned processes rather than simply inherited and maintained them
-
Demonstrate strong judgement about when to standardise and when local variation is genuinely necessary
-
Have operated across multiple countries, with exposure to Germany, the UK and France particularly valuable
-
Have developed and grown operational teams, building their ability to work independently
-
Collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders while staying close enough to operations to understand what is actually happening
Note: We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points.
Nice to Have
-
Experience with HRIS, workflow automation and service delivery tooling
-
Experience defining service levels, controls and operational metrics
-
Experience working with external payroll or other service providers
-
Exposure to People Operations at scale within a comparable environment
Join Helsing and work with world-leading experts in their fields

At Helsing you will have a say in how we (and you!) work, the opportunity to engage on what does and doesn’t work, and to take ownership of aspects of our culture that you care deeply about
What we offer
-
Competitive salary and VSOP options
-

Learning: €500/£450 yearly allowance

We are AI Native
We are building an AI native company where AI is an integral part of how we build and operate. AI tool usage during interviews varies by role. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with AI tools, discuss how you leverage AI, or complete interview exercises without AI assistance. Your Recruiter will provide clear guidance as you move through the interview process.
Undisclosed use of AI not previously discussed with or approved by your Recruiter may impact your candidacy.
About the Team
No other team at Life360 touches every product decision, every experiment, and every revenue lever. Data & Analytics is a 60+ person organization spanning data engineering, analytics engineering, data science, and ML. We're building it to be AI-native, where automation handles the volume so our people can focus on understanding why users behave the way they do, establishing what actually causes what, and turning those findings into action.
About the Job
We're hiring a Staff Decision Scientist to be strategic partners embedded with product, engineering, marketing, and finance teams. People who shape what gets built, how we grow, and where we invest. You'll own the analytical narrative for your area and deliver insights that directly change roadmaps and resource allocation. The output is decisions, not dashboards. You'll also help make the AI-native organization a reality, shaping the tools and workflows that let automation take on more so the team can go deeper. This is not a production ML role (we have a dedicated Data Science / MLE team for that). Your primary tools are statistical inference, clear thinking, and the judgment to know which question matters most.
You'll report into the Data & Analytics leadership team and work alongside data engineers, data scientists, and ML engineers.
The UK-based salary range for this position is £99,500 - 117,500 with an additional equity grant. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
What You'll Do
- Own the analytical narrative for your Operating Group (OG). Be the strategic thought partner across cross-functional teams (PMs, engineers, marketing, finance). You understand the roadmaps and users, and you set the agenda for the highest-leverage questions the OG should be asking.
- Tell stories that move teams to act. You'll present to leadership and working teams with clear narratives and a point of view. A great insight that nobody acts on is a failed insight.
- Establish causality with the right tools for the situation, including A/B testing, analytics, and causal inference. You work with engineering to implement event instrumentation and with Product to translate insights into action.
- Define metrics strategies that measure what matters. Work backward from how users experience the product to develop and implement the measurement frameworks for your OG, in a complex ecosystem with multi-user engagement and many ways to interact with the product.
- Build explanations on top of measurement, always grounding analysis in the reality that users are people with motivations and context the data alone won't tell you.
- Shape the AI-native analytics stack. Lead evaluation and adoption of new tools, agent workflows, and practices that enable self-serve across the OG and move the team from reactive to proactive to autonomous.
- Mentor senior ICs on causal thinking, experimental rigor, and AI-leveraged workflows. Raise the ceiling of the craft.
What We're Looking For
Core Expectations
- Problem-solving mindset: You structure ambiguous problems precisely before reaching for a tool, AI or otherwise.
- Ownership mentality: You take responsibility from framing the question through delivering the recommendation and tracking its impact. You're accountable for decisions changed, not analyses delivered.
- AI-native working style: You use AI tooling (Claude Code or equivalent) as a genuine development partner: delegating discrete tasks, reviewing outputs critically, and running parallel workstreams.
- Curiosity and initiative: You don't wait for the roadmap to tell you what to analyze. You dig into data because you're genuinely curious about how things work.
- Influence at scale: You've shaped strategy at the business unit level by framing the right question and making the evidence impossible to ignore.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- 8+ years in an analytics, data science, or decision science role at a consumer tech company
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (economics, statistics, quantitative social science, operations research)
- Demonstrated experience with causal inference methods in applied settings (e.g., difference-in-differences, instrumental variables, regression discontinuity, synthetic controls, propensity score matching)
- Track record of influencing product or business strategy through data, with specific examples of cross-functional impact
- Experience with experimentation platforms (Statsig, Optimizely, or similar)
- Proficiency in SQL and Python/R for statistical analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with subscription or freemium business models
- Familiarity with international / multi-market analytics
- Experience building dbt models or contributing to analytics engineering workflows
- Background in growth, retention, or lifecycle analytics
- Experience with LTV modeling, incrementality testing, or marketing mix modeling
Our Benefits
- Private comprehensive health & dental insurance
- Mental Wellness Program & Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental well-being
- Generous time off: flexible PTO, companywide holidays throughout the year plus summer and winter shutdowns
- Paid Parental Leave
- Learning & Development programmes
- Free Life360 Platinum Membership and Tile trackers
Life360 Values
Our company’s mission-driven culture is guided by our shared values to create a trusted work environment where you can bring your authentic self to work and make a positive difference
- Be a Good Person - We have a team of high integrity people you can trust.
- Be Direct With Respect - We communicate directly, even when it’s hard.
- Members Before Metrics - We focus on building an exceptional experience for families.
- High Intensity, High Impact - We do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Our Commitment to Diversity
We believe that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative work environment that delivers better results. Together, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our employees. It fuels our innovation and connects us closer to our customers and the communities we serve. We strive to create a workplace that reflects the communities we serve and where everyone feels empowered to bring their authentic best selves to work.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at Life360. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status or any legally protected status.
We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. We believe that a diversity of perspectives and experiences create a foundation for the best ideas. Come join us in building something meaningful. Even if you don’t meet 100% of the below qualifications, you should still seriously consider applying!

Location: London (UK)
Department: Engineering
Hours: Full-time
About YLD:
YLD is a software engineering and product design consultancy, founded in 2013, headquartered in London, with delivery teams in Lisbon and Porto.
We work with engineering and product leaders who know what good looks like and are frustrated by the gap between strategy and execution. We embed senior engineers and designers inside client teams, working in their codebase, their tooling, their delivery rhythm. AI runs through how our teams work, and we help clients adopt it into their own workflows too.
About the role:
We're building out data as a first-class practice at YLD, and we need someone in London who can be the credible technical voice in front of clients and prospects, not just describing what we could do, but backing it with real delivery experience.
This is a senior role, reporting to our Head of Engineering. You'll sit alongside our commercial and client services leadership in meetings where technical credibility matters, help shape and win new engagements, and stay close enough to client work to guide it and step in yourself when an engagement needs you. Alongside, we expect you to build our external reputation in data through events, writing, and the wider community.
About you:
You've been a strong data engineer or data lead for years, and you're comfortable in front of a client as well as in a pull request. You know what good data work looks like well enough to spot it, or its absence, in the first ten minutes of a client conversation. You've probably led a team before. Consultancy background is a strong plus, but not essential if you've got real client or stakeholder exposure elsewhere.
You don't need an existing public profile in the data community, but you'll need the appetite to build one and the technical depth to make it credible when you do.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will look like this:
Hands-on delivery (core, from day one)
- Doing hands-on data engineering work directly, pipelines, transformation layers, models, and the infrastructure around them, not just guiding others
- Adapting to different client contexts: legacy warehouse migrations, greenfield lakehouses, transformation layers that need rescuing
- Guiding the wider team and unblocking hard technical problems as your remit grows beyond your own delivery
- Defining and evolving our internal standards for data work: testing, documentation, project structure, code review
- Mentoring and growing data engineers across the company
Client and commercial (core, from day one)
- Joining client and prospect meetings as the technical authority on data, alongside our client services and commercial leads
- Shaping proposals and pitches, translating client problems into a credible data approach and a defensible scope
- Acting as the escalation point on live data engagements when technical judgement calls need weight behind them
- Travelling to client sites for workshops, discovery sessions, and in-person relationship building, and representing YLD at external data events
Practice, talent, and external profile (growth, over the first year)
- Owning the growth of YLD's data practice: capability, reputation, and headcount over time
- Contributing to attracting and hiring strong data engineers into YLD
- Representing YLD at data events and in the wider community as your standing in the market builds
- Supporting our sales team so that data becomes something we can proactively sell, not just respond to
You'll have the following skills and experience:
Leadership and commercial
- Consulting or agency experience is a strong plus, but real client or stakeholder-facing exposure elsewhere is acceptable
- A track record of technical leadership: leading a team or function
- Comfortable presenting to senior client stakeholders and holding your own under commercial pressure
- Cross-functional fluency: you translate engineering constraints into business terms and negotiate realistic commitments
- Appetite to build a public presence in the data community over time, even if you don't have one yet
Technical
Not theoretical, evidenced by things you've actually shipped, and deep enough to set the bar for a team and answer a sceptical client:
- SQL as engineering: read and review SQL that performs at scale, and understand query planning, engine quirks, and how materialisation choices affect cost and performance well enough to guide a team's decisions
- Python for data: built and maintained production data systems in typed, testable Python, not just notebooks, and can set that standard for others
- Data modelling: made deliberate choices between dimensional, Data Vault, normalised and denormalised designs, and can explain the trade-offs in flexibility, query performance, and maintainability to both engineers and clients
- Transformation architecture: design transformations that are idempotent, incremental, and dependency-aware. You think in DAGs, not scripts
- Pipeline design: weigh batch, streaming, and micro-batch trade-offs against latency, complexity, cost, and reprocessability, and pick the right approach for the problem
- Data testing: know what to catch at build time (schema contracts, assertions, transformation logic) versus defer to observability, and can make that call for a team
- Data observability: treat data reliability like site reliability, with measurable indicators, alerting, incident response, and root cause analysis
- CI/CD for data: version, test, and deploy pipelines like software, with environment promotion, rollback strategies, and infrastructure as code
- Data governance: implemented lineage, cataloguing, sensitive data classification, or access control, and can hold a client to account on making data auditable and secure
- Cost-conscious: optimised warehouse spend, storage strategies, or job efficiency, and treat compute as a resource to manage, not ignore
- Platform fluency: worked across orchestration (Airflow, Dagster), warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks), ingestion (Fivetran, Airbyte, custom), and transformation (dbt, Spark)
- AI Native: experienced in agentic coding workflows (context, harness, loop, and graph engineering), and able to embed AI Engineering constructs into pipelines (RAG, semantic search, evals, guardrails, etc)
You should apply if:
- Confident and credible in front of clients and prospects, without needing a script, and comfortable holding a firm technical or commercial line when a client or prospect pushes back
- Still able to hold up in a deep technical review today, architecture, data modelling, pipeline design, not just talk about decisions you made a few years ago
- Self-motivated, and want to own building a practice, not just execute a workstream someone else has defined, and comfortable without a fully defined remit from day one
- Able to work well with commercial and client services colleagues who aren't technical themselves, translating for them without talking down
- Genuinely energised by variety: different clients, different stacks, different problems, rather than depth in one domain
- Happy travelling regularly, client sites, workshops, industry events, wherever the work and the relationship-building actually happens
- Looking for a role that combines hands-on delivery with client-facing exposure and external visibility (speaking, writing, community), not just one of these
Benefits you’ll receive:
