We are looking for a Strategic Finance Lead to help scale Perplexity’s consumer and enterprise businesses. You will partner with Marketing and Growth leaders to identify growth opportunities, understand customer economics, and turn investment decisions into measurable business results. You will build our marketing-finance capabilities while helping shape how we acquire customers and generate enterprise pipeline.
This role starts as a hands-on individual contributor position for someone who enjoys open-ended problems and turning analysis into action. You will work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams, with room for your scope to evolve as the company grows. We value someone who can set direction, dig into the details, and follow through.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the customer economics and investment recommendations that guide how we acquire and retain customers, grow enterprise pipeline, and scale marketing spend. Use CAC, LTV, and payback to evaluate investment returns.
Partner with Marketing and Growth leaders to build and scale growth initiatives, identify constraints, and determine the resources and changes needed to produce more business.
Build models and analyses to guide growth investments, translate plans into resource requirements and spending forecasts, and track commitments as plans evolve.
Collaborate with data and business partners to strengthen measurement and attribution, connecting marketing activity to business outcomes. Help teams make investment decisions with incomplete information, making assumptions explicit and using results to refine where we invest.
Take ownership of emerging strategic questions across GTM, bringing clear recommendations and adapting as priorities change.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience in strategic finance, business operations, growth analytics, or a related field, with experience supporting growth-oriented decisions.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of customer economics and investment returns.
Ability to work directly with data and build financial models, using AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve workflows. You can validate outputs, interrogate assumptions, and explain the business logic behind your recommendations.
Experience making growth investment decisions across both consumer or self-serve acquisition and enterprise demand generation, with a strong understanding of customer economics and the connection between marketing activity, pipeline, and bookings.
A track record of independently identifying growth opportunities, building the analysis needed to act, and working with partners to implement decisions and learn from results. You move quickly, learn fast, and are willing to do the detailed work yourself.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust, challenge assumptions constructively, and work across teams.

Complex billing arrangements: Translate approved pricing and contractual terms into billing configurations and schedules, including seat changes, tiered discounting, prorations, co-terminations, prepaid credits, and usage billed in arrears.
Billing inquiries and disputes: Serve as the primary point of contact for enterprise billing questions from customers and internal teams. Investigate discrepancies, coordinate approved credits and rebills, and address underlying causes to prevent recurring issues.
Reconciliations and close support: Reconcile contract, subscription, and usage data to billing output and investigate any billing discrepancies. Support month-end close and audits through billing completeness checks, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Integration management: Identifying and resolving any billing system integration failures.

Perplexity is seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to advance how AI systems search, reason, and work together to solve complex problems. Our work spans search and retrieval, LLM post-training, multi-agent training, and the harnesses that make these systems effective.
We control the full stack: the models, the agent harnesses, and the search infrastructure underneath. That gives us the freedom to develop new approaches across all three—training models to use search more effectively, designing tools and execution environments around learned behavior, and improving retrieval to support how agents actually work. You’ll help turn that freedom into better systems, taking ideas from experiments through training and evaluation to production.
Responsibilities
Push search and agent quality forward through improvements to models, training data, tools, and system design.
Develop LLM post-training methods, including reinforcement learning, to improve reasoning, search, tool use, and task completion.
Train and evaluate multi-agent systems, exploring how agents divide work, share information, and coordinate effectively.
Design and build agent harnesses: the tools, context management, execution environments, and orchestration that support reliable work over many steps.
Improve retrieval and ranking models and the search interfaces agents use to find and assess information.
Build datasets, reward signals, and evaluations that expose meaningful failures and guide improvements.
Own experiments end to end, from a clear hypothesis to scalable training, deployment, and measurable gains in quality, latency, and cost.
Collaborate with AI, Search, Infrastructure, Data, and Product teams to bring new capabilities into production.
Qualifications
A strong track record of building and shipping ML systems, with deep experience in one or more of LLM post-training, reinforcement learning, search and retrieval, or agent systems.
Strong software engineering skills and the ability to work across model training, experimentation infrastructure, and production systems.
Experience designing rigorous evaluations, diagnosing failures, and translating experimental results into practical improvements.
Comfort with open-ended problems that require both research judgment and hands-on engineering.
A strong sense of ownership, curiosity, and the drive to carry an idea through to a working system.
Other relevant experience
Training models to use tools or complete tasks over many steps.
Multi-agent training, coordination, or evaluation.
Building agent harnesses, distributed training systems, or scalable inference infrastructure.
Large-scale retrieval, ranking, or recommendation systems.
We value depth in a relevant area and the ability to learn across the stack; we don’t expect prior expertise in every area above.

Perplexity is AI for people who expect more. On the data team, that means building the systems that make our data reliable, understandable, and usable by both humans and AI.
We're looking for an analytics engineer or data engineer who wants to build the foundation for an AI-native data organization. You'll design core data models, pipelines, semantic layers, data quality systems, governance practices, and warehouse workflows that power the entire company: helping teams make strategic decisions, operate the business, and move faster with trusted data. You'll also make sure those systems are secure, privacy-aware, and legible to AI agents, data scientists, and the rest of the company.
This role is for someone who can operate at the boundary of analytics engineering, data engineering, data governance, and internal product. You care about dimensional modeling, dbt standards, cost-aware warehouse design, access controls, privacy, and the details that make data trustworthy. You also believe AI should make the data stack faster, easier to maintain, and more accessible across the company without weakening security or governance.
What You'll Do
Build the core data foundation - design and maintain high-quality data models, marts, and pipelines that make analysis fast, reliable, and reusable.
Manage the data warehouse - help own warehouse architecture, environments, permissions, performance, cost, data lifecycle, and operational hygiene so the platform scales cleanly.
Make the warehouse AI-readable - own the documentation, semantic context, metadata, lineage, and retrieval patterns that AI systems depend on to understand and query Perplexity's data correctly.
Own data modeling standards - define and champion dbt patterns, dimensional modeling practices, naming conventions, tests, and review processes.
Lead data governance practices - define standards for access, ownership, lineage, documentation, retention, quality, and sensitive data handling across the analytical warehouse.
Build with security and privacy in mind - partner with engineering, security, legal, and finance where needed to ensure data access, sharing, and AI-enabled workflows are appropriate and controlled.
Automate data quality and maintenance - build AI-assisted workflows that detect issues, explain root causes, suggest fixes, generate tests, and reduce manual firefighting.
Improve data team productivity - automate repetitive workflows, improve tooling, streamline development, and make it easier for data scientists and stakeholders to answer questions.
Partner across the company - work closely with data scientists, engineering, product, finance, and GTM teams to translate analytical needs into durable data systems.
Shape tooling decisions - evaluate build-versus-buy tradeoffs, manage vendor relationships when needed, and choose tools that scale with the team.
What We're Looking For
6+ years of experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, data scientist, or closely related role.
Deep SQL expertise - you can reason about correctness, performance, joins, grain, and edge cases in complex warehouse queries.
Strong data modeling experience - you've worked hands-on with dbt (or a similar transformation framework) in production, and you understand dimensional modeling, data contracts, testing, and how analytical schemas should evolve.
Pipeline ownership - you've built, maintained, debugged, and improved production data pipelines.
Warehouse management experience - you've worked with warehouse administration, access patterns, permissions, performance tuning, cost management, or operational ownership.
Governance mindset - you think clearly about data ownership, access controls, privacy, retention, lineage, auditability, and the risks of making data too easy to access.
AI-native working style - you already use AI to speed up development, documentation, QA, exploration, and repetitive workflow automation.
Stakeholder fluency - you know how to turn messy analytical requirements into trusted models, metrics, and reusable data assets.
Autonomy and execution - you can take projects from ambiguous problem to production-quality system with minimal oversight.
Operational judgment - you care about reliability, governance, security, cost, and long-term maintainability.
Bonus
Snowflake administration, optimization, cost management, or warehouse performance tuning.
Experience with RBAC, PII handling, data classification, retention policies, audit workflows, or privacy/security reviews.
Experience with Databricks or other modern data infrastructure.
Experience building semantic layers, metrics layers, metadata systems, or data catalogs.
Python experience for data tooling, automation, orchestration, or quality checks.
Previous experience as an early analytics engineer or data engineer at a high-growth startup.
Why This Role
Own the foundation - your work will determine how fast and confidently the company can use data.
Build for humans and AI - the next generation of data infrastructure needs to be understandable by agents as well as analysts.
High leverage - better models, pipelines, and tools multiply every data scientist and every stakeholder who depends on data.
Small team, broad scope - you'll have room to define standards, choose tools, and ship systems that become company-wide defaults.

Perplexity is seeking a Director of Events to own our events worldwide: the ones we host, the stages we speak on, and the ones we sponsor. You will set the strategy, run production, manage the budget, and build the team. If you have produced a flagship and a dinner in the same week, know what a good sponsorship deal looks like, and want to build an events function from the ground up, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
Own events. Hosted, speaking, sponsored. Strategy, budget, production, results.
Set the calendar. Decide which events we run, which we speak at, and which we skip.
Produce hosted events. Launches, dinners, summits, roadshows. Concept, programming, venue, vendors, run of show.
Run the speaking program. Pick the stages. Prepare the speakers.
Manage sponsorships. Negotiate terms, design our footprint, and account for the spend.
Run field events with Sales. Get the right customers in the room. Make sure someone follows up.
Be Perplexity. Our events should look and feel like our product. Work with Brand and Creative on every one.
Lead the team. Equal parts IC and manager.
Build the system. Playbooks, event tiers, intake, vendors, agencies, budgets.
Measure. Attendance, coverage, pipeline, signups. Know which events worked and stop doing the ones that didn't.
Be on site. For the events that matter, you are in the room.
Qualifications
12+ years producing events, including large hosted events, sponsorships, and field programs, ideally in-house at a technology company.
Has built or led an events team.
Has owned large budgets, agency relationships, and vendor contracts.
Has negotiated sponsorships and knows a bad deal when they see one.
Has run an executive speaking program: selecting stages, preparing speakers, managing the day.
Knows production: run of show, staging, AV, registration, staffing, security, permits.
Drives measurement. Has built event attribution and tracked brand sentiment, and reports what each event returned.
Can partner with Sales, Product, Comms, Brand, Finance, Legal, and executives.
Power user of AI tools. Most of your work already runs through them, and you can show us how.
Based in San Francisco or New York. Willing to travel internationally.

Overview
The Workplace Experience team powers and connects the workday for all Perplexity employees across our global offices.
We are hospitality and experience-driven at the core. We are made up of People people, meaning that we love supporting each other and all of the People in our workplace. We take on the good and the bad with optimism and with a positive, kind approach to solving problems, dealing with the obstacles handed to us, and proactively creating good around us. We think about each moment through the lens of our colleagues (our customers) so that we can create thoughtful and memorable experiences no matter what task we have at hand.
As our Global Workplace Business Operations Lead, you will manage the business operations and cross-functional program delivery that enable our global Workplace Experience team to scale. In collaboration with the Head of Workplace Experience, you will set the operating framework for your areas, make decisions within agreed priorities and approval limits, and remain hands-on in delivering results. You will own the effectiveness of portfolio operating processes and internal project delivery.
What You’ll Do
Own the Workplace operating framework: Lead annual and quarterly planning for your areas, translate team strategy into priorities and resource plans, and establish clear decision rights, delivery commitments and measures of success. Resolve sequencing and capacity trade-offs within agreed parameters and recommend when to add people, vendors or technology.
Lead internal capital-project delivery: Take accountability for integrated delivery plans across office openings, refreshes and other capital initiatives. Direct the work of external PMs within agreed scopes, align internal workstreams, resolve delivery issues and hold partners accountable for schedule, cost, quality and operational readiness.
Own portfolio controls and insight: Establish dependable lease administration, obligation tracking, space and occupancy information, and portfolio reporting. Set data and control standards, ensure actions have owners, and turn trends and risks into recommendations before deadlines or capacity constraints become problems.
Drive financial planning and performance: Own the processes and quality of operating and capital forecasts, commitments, actuals and variance analysis in partnership with Finance. Challenge assumptions, recommend corrective actions and investment trade-offs, and give the Head of Workplace Experience a reliable basis for budget and commitment decisions.
Set the systems and reporting roadmap: Own business requirements, governance and improvement priorities for workplace tools such as Envoy. Establish useful performance measures, improve data quality, and automate repeatable work while maintaining appropriate controls and keeping processes practical for the team.
Lead EHS program governance: Establish a risk-based plan, clear responsibilities and a review cadence with qualified vendors and internal teams. Drive follow-through on assessed obligations and remediation across offices and remote populations, maintain evidence of completion, and escalate material risks without substituting for specialist advice.
Set standards for delivery and handover: Own the development and use of project playbooks, planning processes and operational-readiness criteria. Bring together design standards and occupancy requirements, and ensure completed projects transfer to local operations with the documentation, training, vendor arrangements and issue ownership needed to run well.
Serve as a senior operating partner: Lead cross-functional operating and project reviews, surface decisions with clear recommendations, and represent your areas with internal and external partners. Drive resolution within your authority, escalate material changes with options, and build accountability without adding unnecessary layers.
What You Bring
Senior functional leadership: 8+ years in workplace business operations, corporate real estate, facilities programs or a closely related field, with increasing responsibility for complex, multi-site programs and their outcomes. You have operated with substantial autonomy, not only administered plans set by others.
Project and program management expertise: You are a project manager at the core. You are quick and agile, but methodical when it comes to planning for, organizing, tracking, and executing on a project in a way that keeps everything and everyone aligned and on task.
Relevant delivery depth: You have a record of delivering office buildouts, relocations or capital improvements as an internal owner, with accountability for scope, financial performance, schedules, change control and external delivery partners.
Strong financial and analytical judgment: You have experience driving forecasting and reporting processes, challenging assumptions and translating portfolio data into resource or investment recommendations; strong spreadsheet and analytical skills.
Experience building an operating framework: You have established planning, governance, performance measures and systems that helped a growing function deliver more predictably. You know when structure improves execution and when it becomes unnecessary process.
Leadership across organizational boundaries: You can secure commitments, challenge constructively and resolve competing priorities across teams and vendors. You communicate risks and recommendations credibly to senior leaders and know which decisions to make independently and which to escalate.
Hands-on ownership and sound judgment: You can move between portfolio-level trade-offs and project details, deliver through others without losing accountability, handle sensitive information responsibly, and maintain a kind, service-oriented approach under pressure.
Helpful, not required: International portfolio experience, workplace technology ownership, EHS program governance, or a relevant project-management credential.

Perplexity is scaling at a pace few companies experience, and the Communications and Marketing team is growing with it. We're hiring a Business Operations Manager to build and run the operating system underneath, so an incredibly busy team can move fast and stay in lockstep.
That means keeping the wheels turning: the tool stack, agencies and vendors, budgets, contracts, and the dashboards leadership relies on. It also means building what doesn't exist yet, and making sure everyone knows what's happening and nothing gets dropped. Half builder, half connective tissue. If you like turning ideas into things people use every day, this role is for you.
What you'll do
Own the marketing and comms tool stack: evaluate, procure, onboard, provision access, train the team, and retire what we've outgrown
Build and maintain internal tools such as calendars, intake forms, dashboards, trackers, and automations, and keep them reliable as more people depend on them
Run the team's operating rhythm: priorities, launch and campaign calendars, planning cycles, and the cross-functional handoffs that carry work from idea to launch without dropped threads
Manage agencies, contractors, and vendors from selection and onboarding through scopes, invoices, renewals, and performance
Keep contracts and procurement moving with Legal and Finance so agreements never become the bottleneck
Be the connective tissue across the team: know who's working on what, spot dependencies early, and keep people aligned without adding meetings
Act as a thought partner and triage point to leadership: keep them informed, spot problems early, know when to escalate, propose solutions, and see them through
Add rigor without slowing anyone down, knowing the difference between process that helps and process that's overhead
What you bring
4-7 years in marketing operations, business operations, or a similar systems-and-process role, ideally in a fast-growing technology company
You build things. You've stood up tools, automations, or dashboards yourself, and AI tools are already part of how you work
Strong analytical instincts, able to turn messy inputs into numbers leadership can trust
Experience managing agency, contractor, or vendor relationships and working with Legal and Finance on contracts and procurement
Exceptionally organized and genuinely relational. People like working with you, tell you things early, and trust you with what's really going on
A clear, direct communicator who can brief an executive, run a cross-functional meeting, and write a process doc people actually follow
Demonstrated experience working closely with and as a trusted partner to senior executives
Comfortable in ambiguity and thinks in scale, building things that hold up when the team, budget, or number of launches doubles
No specific tool stack required. You've operated marketing or comms systems in a high-growth environment and can pick ours up fast

You will be the primary advocate for our Enterprise Pro customers, helping them maximize value, troubleshooting complex issues, and feeding their insights straight into future product development.
Responsibilities
Work directly with enterprise customers—via tickets, Slack, and sometimes calls—to diagnose and resolve their most complex technical and product questions, acting as the “last line of defense” before Product and Engineering step in.
Leverage Perplexity’s own AI tooling and workflow automations to democratize world-class support at scale, continuously identifying opportunities to replace repetitive tasks with agentic, self-service solutions that feel personalized.
Build durable relationships with Enterprise users, advising on best practices, capturing structured feedback, and championing customer needs in roadmap discussions.
Own end-to-end troubleshooting: reproduce issues, isolate root causes, collaborate with engineers, and communicate clear, low-jargon explanations.
Design and maintain detailed use-case flows, playbooks, and internal runbooks that empower teammates and customers to solve recurring challenges faster.
Create and update external documentation (FAQs, help center, guides, tutorials) and internal knowledge bases to ensure information is discoverable and up-to-date.
Track and report support KPIs (response time, CSAT, resolution rates) and propose data-driven process improvements.
Participate in an on-call rotation—including some holidays or weekends—to guarantee timely global coverage.
Requirements
Minimum 3+ years in B2B enterprise customer support with exposure to U.S. and E.U. markets, or similar fast-paced tech environments.
Hands-on experience prompting large-language models, plus a solid grasp of AI fundamentals (tokens, context windows, embeddings, latency vs. cost trade-offs, etc.).
Ability to translate complex technical concepts—APIs, SSO/SAML, cloud integrations—into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated strength in critical thinking, rapid context-switching, and ruthless prioritization when juggling multiple escalations.
Proficiency with modern support platforms (Intercom, Zendesk, Jira) and basic data-analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Looker, Snowflake).
Exceptional written and spoken English; business-level fluency in at least one additional language such as Spanish, French, or German is strongly preferred.
Passion for continuous learning, high ownership, and a “do-what-it-takes” mindset in ambiguous situations.
Bonus Points
Prior experience supporting AI, search, or knowledge-management products.
Familiarity with payment platforms (Stripe), enterprise identity (SSO/OAuth), and API integrations.
Knowledge of enterprise cloud-storage ecosystems (Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox) and data-governance best practices.
Why Perplexity?

About the job
We're looking for an experienced Global Mobility Lead to build and run the programs that help employees join, move, and work across borders. You will own our mobility policies, immigration casework, and vendor relationships, and partner with Legal, Finance, and People Ops to make cross-border moves clear, compliant, and well supported.
What you’ll own
Global mobility
Own the mobility policy suite end to end: relocation, permanent transfers, short-term and long-term international assignments, remote/cross-border work arrangements, and business travel thresholds.
Run individual mobility cases from scoping to landing: package design, cost estimates, immigration sequencing, tax and social-security implications, payroll setup, relocation logistics, and post-arrival support.
Manage employment-based immigration casework in partnership with outside counsel: H-1B (including cap-subject and change-of-employer/AC21 timing), L-1, TN, E-3, O-1, F-1 OPT/CPT, and employer-sponsored permanent residence. Own the internal timeline, the start-date reality check, and the manager/candidate communication.
Own daily immigration intake and case execution, including employer questionnaires, supporting documents, employment verification letters, signatures, counsel follow ups, and case closure.
Own right-to-work compliance across jurisdictions: I-9 and E-Verify in the US, Home Office share-code checks in the UK, and equivalent checks in our EU and other markets.
Decide and document the entity/employment model for each new market (direct entity, EOR, or non-resident payroll registration) with Finance and Legal.
Own our mobility vendor stack (immigration counsel, relocation, tax, EOR/global payroll): scope, SLAs, cost, and performance.
Model and track mobility cost, including sponsorship and premium-processing fees, so leadership can make go/no-go calls with real numbers, and obtain and document required approvals before committing sponsorship or spend
Data and systems
Build the tracking layer: mobility case pipeline, immigration deadlines and expirations, compensation comparisons, etc.
Stand up mobility dashboards: case volume, cycle time, cost per move, band penetration, offer-to-band variance, and equity-gap trend.
Write the employee-facing documentation so moves and pay decisions are predictable and explainable, not one-off negotiations.
What we’re looking for
Required
6+ years of experience in global mobility, with real ownership of cross-border moves and immigration casework, not just vendor hand-offs.
Working fluency in US employment-based immigration and at least one other major jurisdiction’s work-authorization regime (UK, EU, or Canada).
Strong analytical skills: comfortable in spreadsheets and HRIS reporting, able to build a defensible model and explain the assumptions behind it.
Judgment about risk. You know when to escalate to Legal, when to flag classification or permanent-establishment exposure, and how to say no clearly.
Excellent written communication: you’ll draft policies, verification letters, offer rationales, and executive-facing recommendations.
Comfort with ambiguity, high volume, and shifting priorities.
About the job We're looking for an experienced Global Mobility Lead to build and run the programs that help employees join, move, and work across borders. You will own our mobility...

Perplexity is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join our growing Finance and Accounting team. You will partner closely with the Payroll Manager to keep US and international payroll accurate, compliant, and timely as the company scales through rapid hiring, global expansion, and increasing complexity in equity and benefits administration.
This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one, working closely with People Operations, Accounting, Tax, and Equity. The ideal candidate combines strong payroll and systems expertise with sharp attention to detail, a service-oriented approach, and the ability to bring structure to a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
US and international payroll processing: Own day-to-day processing support for US multi-state semi-monthly payroll and assist with international payroll cycles across approximately 16 countries, working primarily in Rippling.
Global contractor payroll: Run the monthly global contractor payroll cycle, including timecard submission tracking, manager approval follow-up, and on-schedule contractor payments.
Pre- and post-payroll audits: Reconcile benefit deductions, 401(k) deferrals, and employer match against payroll journals and deductions exports; flag and resolve discrepancies before paychecks post.
State tax account administration: Support state-level employer tax account registration and maintenance (SUI and withholding) as the company grows into new states, including migration of legacy accounts inherited from prior PEO arrangements.
Benefits and 401(k) support: Assist with 401(k) and benefits administration, including contribution monitoring, HCE and nondiscrimination testing support, and COBRA offboarding notices.
Equity payroll reporting: Support equity and stock-exercise payroll reporting by tracking Carta exercise data, applying correct NSO/ISO tax treatment, and preparing payroll-side entries at quarter-end cutoffs.
Reimbursements and systems integration: Manage the Rippling-to-NetSuite reimbursement approval chain, ensuring expense reimbursements route and post correctly across systems.
Employee support: Serve as a first point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, resolving routine questions and escalating complex cases with context.
Close and compliance support: Maintain clean, audit-ready documentation and support quarter-end and year-end close activities, including W-2s, ACA reporting, 401(k) true-ups, and year-end reconciliations.
Process improvement: Identify and help implement process improvements that reduce manual work and strengthen controls as payroll volume and jurisdictional complexity increase.
Requirements
4+ years of hands-on payroll experience, ideally including multi-state US payroll; international or contractor payroll exposure is a plus.
Experience establishing and managing US state agency accounts, including troubleshooting agency mailings and invoices for payment, and related account maintenance.
Strong working knowledge of California wage statement requirements, meal and rest break premiums, final pay timing rules, and other state-specific compliance considerations.
Hands-on experience with a modern payroll/HRIS platform (Rippling, Workday, ADP, Gusto, or similar); Rippling experience preferred.
Comfort with detailed reconciliation work across benefits deductions, 401(k) match calculations, and payroll-to-GL tie-outs, including strong Excel and Google Sheets skills and the ability to work accurately with large datasets.
Working knowledge of US payroll tax compliance (SUI, SIT, federal and state withholding) and interest in learning cross-border payroll mechanics.
Familiarity with equity compensation payroll (RSU, NSO, and ISO taxation) is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through — this role exists to catch errors before they reach employees, not just process transactions.
Clear communicator who can explain payroll and benefits topics to employees and cross-functional stakeholders.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Team
The User Operations team at Perplexity AI is the frontline of our user experience. We ensure that our AI-powered search and answer engine delivers real value to every user—from individual consumers to teams and organizations. Our team operates across 3-4 active support channels—email, in-app messaging, Slack, and community—and collaborates closely with Product, Engineering, Billing, and Growth to turn user feedback into product improvements. We’re a lean, fast-moving group at a startup that ships constantly, so everyone on the team wears multiple hats and contributes well beyond just resolving tickets.
About the Role
Perplexity launches new features and products at a rapid pace—and this role sits at the center of that. We need a User Operations Generalist who combines excellent customer support instincts with real technical depth. You’ll handle high volumes of user inquiries across channels while also digging into product issues, using customer feedback to uncover problems, and providing solutions that improve the experience for everyone.
This isn’t just ticket work. As new features and products ship, you’re the person who hears about it first from users—what’s working, what’s confusing, and what’s broken. You’ll use those interactions to surface insights that shape how launches land, identify issues before they scale, and provide clear solutions back to users. You’ll also build automations and improve workflows that make the team faster and smarter, so we can keep up with the pace of the product without sacrificing quality.
You should be comfortable operating across multiple support channels and have experience standing up or optimizing multi-channel support operations—not just working in them, but thinking critically about how they’re structured, routed, and scaled.
This role requires someone who can navigate ambiguity and fill in the gaps where processes don’t yet exist. You won’t always have a playbook—and that’s the point. We need someone who can define the path forward, not just follow one.
You’re a strong, independent operator who doesn’t need to be told what to do next:
You see the gap—whether it’s a missing Help Center article, a broken workflow, or a pattern in user tickets—and you move to fix it
You’re self-motivated and take initiative, but you also know when to ask questions
You communicate effectively with the team—keeping people informed, surfacing blockers early, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks
We won’t hold your hand through this role, and we wouldn’t want to—because you’re the kind of person who thrives when given ownership and trust
Responsibilities
Handle a high volume of user inquiries across channels (email, chat, Slack, community) with speed, accuracy, and empathy for both consumer and business users.
Deliver excellent customer support—clear, thoughtful, and human—even under pressure and at scale
Triage and prioritize effectively to keep response and resolution times on target
Use customer feedback and support interactions as a primary source for uncovering product issues, UX confusion, and feature gaps—especially as new products and features launch
Investigate and troubleshoot product issues: reproduce problems, isolate root causes, provide users with solutions or workarounds, and document findings for Engineering
Guide users through technical troubleshooting: AI search, LLM behavior, account configuration
File well-documented bugs in Linear with enough context for Engineering to act immediately
Leverage AI tooling and automation (Intercom, scripts) to streamline operations, reduce repetitive work, and scale support quality
Write and maintain Help Center articles, internal SOPs, escalation playbooks, and troubleshooting guides
Communicate cross-functionally—surface user insights to Product and Engineering, escalate issues, close the loop, and keep teammates informed
Track support KPIs and propose data-driven process improvements
Requirements
3+ years in customer support, user operations, or technical support—ideally at a SaaS or tech company
Proven ability to manage high ticket volumes while maintaining quality and empathy
Excellent customer-facing communication: clear, professional, and adaptable to different audiences
Technical aptitude: comfortable working through product issues, navigating technical questions independently, and learning new tools and systems quickly
Hands-on experience with AI tools and automation platforms (Intercom workflows, scripting) to improve operations
Familiarity with AI, LLMs, or search technologies
Strong internal communication—keeps their immediate team informed, writes crisp updates for immediate team and cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, etc.), and ensures stakeholders stay in the loop on issues and progress
Self-motivated and proactive: manages own priorities, takes initiative, delivers without waiting for direction
Experience creating user-facing documentation (e.g., Help Center articles, FAQs, guides) as well as internal SOPs, templates, and playbooks
Experience with multi-channel support operations—not just working across channels, but helping stand up, optimize, or scale how support is structured and routed
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume startup environment with shifting priorities
Nice to Have
Experience with support and operations tooling such as Intercom, Parahelp, Linear, Notion, or Stripe.
Familiarity with prompting techniques and LLM optimization
Basic web tech understanding (HTTP, REST APIs, JavaScript, HTML)
Data analysis tools (SQL, Looker, Snowflake)
Scripting or lightweight automation background (Google Apps Script, Python)
Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup
Who You Are
You’re the kind of person who:
Sees a gap and fills it before anyone asks
Thrives in high-volume environments and keeps quality high even when things move fast
Thinks creatively—you don’t just follow the playbook, you look for better ways to solve problems and aren’t afraid to try something new
Treats every user interaction as a chance to learn something about the product
Gets energized by building automations that save the team hours
Communicates with clarity—whether writing a Help Center article, filing a bug, or updating the team in Slack
Takes full ownership end-to-end: you don’t just escalate, you follow through
Why Perplexity?
Impact at Scale – Your work directly influences millions of users and shapes the future of AI-powered search.
Velocity & Ownership – Ship improvements quickly in a culture that values curiosity, speed, and quality.
Cutting-Edge Tech – Operate at the forefront of applied LLMs and help define how AI transforms customer support.

Perplexity is seeking a Sales Leader to build and scale our enterprise BDR organization. In this second-line leadership role, you will inherit a team of Business Development Representatives, hire, coach, and lead BDR managers, equipping them to build high-performing teams that generate qualified pipeline for our Account Executives.
This role is ideal for a creative, agile sales development leader who knows how to scale through managers without losing touch with buyers or frontline execution. In the near term you are expected to be hands on with BDRs and in the weeds. You will set the strategy, develop the team, and build an org that is adaptable to keep pace with the company quickly evolving.
We are looking for someone who brings original ideas, moves rapidly from insight to execution, and knows when to scale, adapt, or stop an approach. You will build what works for Perplexity, not simply import a playbook from your last company.
Responsibilities
Hire, onboard, and develop BDRs and BDR managers, establishing clear expectations for team performance, coaching quality, hiring, and talent development
Own the organization's contribution to sourced pipeline and qualified opportunities, holding managers accountable for pipeline quality and conversion, not activity volume alone
Set the sales development strategy across inbound and outbound motions, partnering with Sales leadership on coverage, capacity planning, account prioritization, and resource allocation
Build a culture of creative experimentation across targeting, vertical messaging, channels, campaigns, and AI-native workflows; give managers room to test ideas, measure results, and scale what works
Lead with agility as products, buyer behavior, and business priorities evolve, translating new information into clear decisions and fast execution without creating unnecessary process
Coach managers to build vertical fluency and product expertise on their teams so BDRs can engage credible buyers and connect the right Perplexity offering to each account
Establish the management operating rhythm: manager 1:1s, pipeline and conversion reviews, coaching calibration, talent reviews, and a consistent performance scoreboard across teams
Partner with Sales, Marketing, RevOps, and Strategic Finance on campaign strategy, lead quality, routing, handoff standards, source attribution, headcount planning, and compensation design
Stay close to calls, messaging, and buyer feedback to identify patterns and remove systemic blockers while empowering managers to own day-to-day execution
Build a strong leadership bench and internal talent pipeline, developing BDRs into future Account Executives and high-performing managers into broader leadership roles
Qualifications
8+ years in SaaS sales or business development, including 3+ years in sales development leadership
Proven track record of building or scaling a multi-team pipeline generation organization in a high-growth environment, with measurable improvements in qualified pipeline, conversion, and productivity
Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and develop managers, build accountability through leaders, and improve performance without becoming the team's day-to-day manager
Creative approach to pipeline generation, with examples of original campaigns, messaging, channels, or workflows you tested and translated into repeatable results
Demonstrated agility in ambiguous, fast-changing environments; able to make sound decisions with incomplete information, learn quickly, and change course when evidence warrants it
Strong commercial judgment and experience aligning sales development priorities with enterprise sales cycles, buyer needs, and revenue goals; prior closing experience strongly preferred
Data-driven operating style with experience in funnel analysis, capacity planning, forecasting pipeline contribution, and distinguishing meaningful outcomes from vanity metrics
Hands-on experience with modern prospecting tools, AI-native sales workflows, and CRM systems such as Salesforce, with a clear point of view on where automation improves execution and where human judgment matters
Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to align senior cross-functional stakeholders and translate strategy into clear priorities for managers and their teams
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
